Do you need a mill that will adapt for non-electric use? If so, you need to look into stone and/or steel burr mills that can adapt to a hand crank. Make sure the stone mill grinding stone does not contain aluminum. Do you need small amounts of grain at one time, or larger?

This is my latest mill project. It is a 16" Williams mill. Though it appears to be a Williams mill, I suspect it was acutally manufactured by Meadows sometime after they bought out Williams. There is a trace of red paint which to me indicates it wasn't built by Williams as their mills were yellow.
